Meet Andrew

I’m a Utah native and have lived in Utah County for nearly my whole life. Outside of work, I’m a husband and a proud dad of two. My family definitely keeps me grounded every day!

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me outdoors hiking, camping, canoeing, or out for a run. Otherwise, I’m probably reading, hosting a board game night, or just hanging out with family and friends.

These moments constantly remind me why genuine human connection, balance, and a meaningful life matter so much.

Why I Do This Work

My path into therapy grew out of seeing firsthand how much shame and isolation people experience when struggling with unwanted sexual behaviors or compulsive habits.

As I specialized in this area, I kept noticing a heartbreaking pattern: the very thing causing people the most pain wasn’t just the behavior itself; it was the overwhelming weight of shame attached to it.

Good, caring people were defining themselves by labels like “addict” or believing that having certain urges meant something was fundamentally wrong with who they were.

Even worse, I realized that many standard approaches to treatment unintentionally added to that burden by focusing strictly on:

  • Rigid control and prohibition

  • White-knuckling through urges

  • Relying solely on willpower

When motivation fades, or when life gets stressful, relying strictly on willpower often backfires and traps people in an exhausting cycle of frustration and self-blame.

A Compassionate, Values-Based Approach

I chose to specialize in this area because I knew there had to be a more compassionate, effective way. I do this work because I want to change that narrative.

I believe real, lasting change comes from:

  1. Understanding your patterns rather than labeling yourself.

  2. Learning practical tools to navigate difficult emotions and urges.

  3. Building a rich, fulfilling life aligned with what actually matters to you.

My goal is to give you a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can stop hiding, step out of shame, and regain confidence in who you are.
